Who is Bjarkan
BJARKAN is my quiet language and my memory.
My name is Hana.
I am a woman, a mother of two daughters, and a partner to a man who today gives me safety, respect, and space to grow.
Before I reached this place, I lived for several years in a toxic relationship.
It was during that time that the need to create returned to me fully.
I began searching for symbols and images that would help me reconnect with myself.
Not as an escape, but as quiet support — something to touch when words are no longer enough.
Through these motifs, breath slowly returned, along with steadiness and a sense of my own center.
Creating was not an expression of strength for me, but a path toward it.
A path that allowed me to breathe again and become the bearer of my own story.
My connection to textiles began in childhood.
Batik, layering colors, and working with fabric taught me patience and respect for the process.
Later, painting on textile allowed me to unite body, story, and memory into one whole.
I work as a caregiver for seniors — among people who carry the memory of entire generations.
There, again and again, I am reminded how important it is to preserve, pass on, and not lose the thread.
I am inspired by old myths, the North, Slavic roots, and the cycles of nature.
Not as the past, but as a living structure that holds us together.
Trees, faces, guardians, and quiet symbols — images that carry memory and strength at the same time.
Each piece is created slowly and by hand.
Only once.
At the moment the image is ready — not when the market demands it.
I create clothing and bags for those who feel that strength does not need to be loud.
For those who know that to carry something means to carry it forward — story, memory, and one’s own path.
Painted by hand.
Created once.
Carried forward.
